CleverEV payment options
This content is not available in your language yet.
CleverEV provides a variety of payment schemes, providers and solutions, tailored for the needs of the owners of charging stations in most of the countries. Additional solutions are coming on the roadmap (please, consult with your account manager for more details) or can be implemented like a part of a dedicated project.
Most alternative management systems on the market operate like a middle man in providing revenue generating solution for the owners. CleverEV supports this approach both on system level (CleverEV acts like operator and collects the money) and on Partner level (the Partner operates the network and acts like a payment collector). In addition, CleverEV was one of the first solutions on the market to support direct payment to the account of the owner of the charging station - this way all the revenue from the transactions flows directly to the owner and CleverEV doesn’t charge a percentage of the revenue flow.
Charging models supported:
- System level collection (CleverEV)
- Partner level collection (Partner or White Label)
- Owner level collection (Owner of the charger)
Charging options and solutions:
- Charging through the mobile phone application (iOS, Android)
- Charging through App Clip (iOS) and Instant App (Android) - payment without pre-registration, using only your mobile phone
- Payment through integrated payment terminal on or near the charging station (roadmap item)
Supported Payment processors
- Stripe - the world widest used payment solution. Payment accepted in most countries of the world, in variety of currencies
- Barion - a Payment processor in Hungary, available for customers in EU. Most effective for payments in EUR, HUF, CZK and USD

Typical payment process and options for consideration:
1. The customer requests a charging. His account is pre-authorised and an amount, recommended by the owner of the charging station, is blocked for payment.
2. If the amount is reached during the charging - there are three options for the charger operator to select:
- close the charging session
- request a new blocking for the same or different amount
- continue charging until the car is full and charge the difference at the end
3. At the end of the charging transaction, any unused blocking is released.
Charger reservation and grace time to leave the parking
Car owners can reserve an available charging station for a short period of time (15 minutes recommended), to ensure that it will be available at the time of arrival. The reservation can optionally be extended for a fee. The owner of the charger can setup these parameters for their chargers.
In addition, the owner of the charging station may require the car owner to leave the parking space after the charging is finished and has the option to impose an additional charge for parking after that time.
